Gerber Pack Hatchet & Sheath, Mini Axe for Camping, 3.5" Blade,Coyote Brown

Nice small hatchet. The feel is nice but havent had a chance to really use it. More of a collection purchase but it help chopping some roots of a tree housing cut down but didnt remove the stump and roots.

great little hatchet. i have found i prefer a long knife to split wood in the backcountry but this thing is nice. i usu it mostly for roughing out spoon blanks now, it keeps an edge well and was sharp when i got it, sheath isn't awesome but is still going strong. id say its durable too, don't know how id break it other than dropping a tree on it

Sharp, right size for bag storage.

The Gerber Pack Hatchet Camping Axe is an impressive tool that I recently added to my camping gear. This compact and lightweight axe is designed for outdoor enthusiasts who need a reliable tool to chop wood, build shelters, and perform other campsite tasks. One of the first things I noticed about the Gerber Pack Hatchet is its size. It's smaller than a typical camping axe, which makes it easy to carry in a backpack or attach to a belt loop. But despite its compact size, the axe is incredibly sturdy and well-built. The blade is made from high-carbon stainless steel, which provides excellent edge retention and durability. The handle is made from a grippy rubber material, which provides a comfortable and secure grip even when my hands are sweaty. The axe also comes with a nylon sheath that protects the blade and makes it easy to carry. One of the things I appreciate about the Gerber Pack Hatchet is how versatile it is. I've used it to chop kindling, cut branches for a fire, and even carve tent stakes. The axe has a surprisingly sharp edge, and it makes quick work of most tasks. Overall, I'm very impressed with the Gerber Pack Hatchet Camping Axe. It's a well-built and versatile tool that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether you're camping, hiking, or just spending time in the woods, the Gerber Pack Hatchet is an excellent addition to your gear.

I’ve built 3 full sustainable emergency kits. With enough emergency rations for 1 month. This will give me enough time to get out, set up, and prepare my camp for sustainable living. While each pack has a felling or chopping full size axe, hatchet and saw. This is the only item I keep on my haversack. It’s small, light weight (yet still heavy and durable), razor sharp and easily sharpened. It replaces my Bowie, machete, and hatchet all in one. By far the most useful multifunctional blade I own. It’s full tang with a single set screw. Easily repaired with versatility for optional repair or customization.

I have bought several of these over the years and absolutely love them. They have a great grip, the steel holds an edge well, and it fits well in a backpack without too much added weight

This feels and looks like a quality product. The size is nice, not too overpowering, but perfect for what I intend to use if for--chopping little branches and making a little fuel for a fire. I like that it has a holster as much for blade protection as for possibly carrying it on my belt. Nice that I have the option, but I am not the mountain man type so carrying it in a pack, or packing it in the car works just fine. However, if I need to or if there is a space crunch on a back pack trip I have the option to wear it, pack it, or lash it.

small, lightweight easy to carry. sheath is a pita, making it difficult to get out or put back. overall good for the money.

Purchased this to put into our vehicles overlanding kit. It is a very solid (heavy) little axe, and will work great for those times we need to use it. Solid construction, feels like it could do some damage if handled improperly. Love that it comes with what feels like a very sturdy cover for the blade. Would recommend it is a fantastic find for the price.

Good value for a quality product
