good value n stable pieces
bought this for my teen age son to use to try out different moves; the board is a bit small, but the pieces are nicely balanced and don't easily fall over. its also very clear which piece is which.review edited to add clasp broke within 2 days, not great quality

Not solid wood!
The pieces are made of wood but the board is not. I bought this for my son who's just started playing chess so for that purpose it's fine, but some purchasers may be disappointed with the quality of the board.
