The mridangam is an instrument of ancient origin. It is the primary rhythmic accompaniment in a Carnatic music ensemble and currently played in Fusion ensembles as well. For conventional leather-strap mridangams, Ultimate Guru Music offers only ones made of jack-fruit wood, concert mridangams manufactured by Chennai's two leading makers that exclusively supply professional mridangam players. They are further selected and tested by Maestro Ganesh Kumar who exclusively respresents and endorses Ultimate Guru Music products. Mridangams ship from our office in Austin, USA.
